Yoga Bowl Events is a collaboration between Yoga Teacher, Alice Billerey and Chef, Charlotte Kjaer. Air & Earth will be a blissful afternoon of mindful movement, meditation and nourishment.

In Ayurveda the season of Autumn is associated to the element of Air. Air represents movement or transition. It is the kinaesthetic energy of air that creates a whirl wind of change, as represented in nature. The qualities of air are cold, dry, light, rough, mobile and flowing. With an abundance of air energy it is not unusual to feel unsettled or restless at this time of year. As the seasons change around us there may also be an internal drive towards transformation and change. Whilst transformation can be very powerful and lead to positive outcomes, it is also important to take time to reflect, settle and ground.

The afternoon will start with a 60 minute dynamic flow, where we shall connect to the element of air, associated to Anahata, the 4th Chakra, also known as the Heart Chakra. This practice will offer you the opportunity to set a positive affirmation to take through with you into the rest of the year, and a chance to let go of anything that is no longer serving you. As Anahata is located in the heart space we shall open and stimulate the front line of the body, creating space around the chest, shoulders and opening the front of the spine.

After the yoga we will join together for a delicious plant based lunch in the upstairs cafe. The menu will consist of seasonal foods which help to ground the body and spices to aid digestion and induce calm.

We shall finish the afternoon grounding ourselves with yin and mindful meditation, inspired by the element of earth. The element of earth is associated to the first Chakra Muladhara, also known as the Root Chakra, located at the base of the spine. We shall keep low to the ground during this practice, stimulating the energetic channels in the lower body, turning inwards, slowing down the breath, heart and nervous system, leaving you feeling blissfully calm and at ease.
