Home To The Heart – 2 night yoga retreat in Kent

Join Alice and Stella Billerey for a 2 night / 3 day yoga retreat at The Quaives in Kent. The offering will include movement that is energising as well as slow and restorative. The intention is to create a safe space for unapologetic rest and rejuvenation. In the beautiful Kent countryside the calling is to reconnect to nature, ourselves and those around us. In addition to yogic movement, breathwork and meditation there will also be an evening of Guatemalan Cacao and sound healing.

 About the Venue:

The Quaives is a hidden gem, surrounded by the peaceful countryside of East Kent, a real escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, which is in easy reach with the high speed rail from London to Canterbury West Station, just 15 minutes ride in a cab to the venue. We will have access to a beautiful fully equipped yoga studio with high ceilings, a communal diner-lounge with log burner, hot tub, tennis court, fire pit, and cedar wood pavilion, beautiful formal gardens and grounds to explore, that open onto meadows and the lakes beyond.

Rooms & Prices:

£385 PP for a single bed in an 8-bed cottage

£435 PP for a single bed in a 4-bed cottage

£485 PP for a single bed / king bed (2 people sharing) in a private cottage

The Food:

All the food will be plant-based (vegan) nutritious, balanced and most importantly delicious! Our chef will cook a hearty brunch each morning to be enjoyed together after yoga. And in the evening we’ll enjoy a two course dinner. There will also be fruit and nuts available throughout the day for snacking on. We’re more than happy to cater to any allergies, just let us know.

 About Alice:

Alice believes yoga is for everybody. She encourages all her students to work mindfully on the mat and her aim is to lead you towards a deeper listening and understanding of yourself. There is no one size fits all and she is aware that we are all perfectly unique and beautifully individual, and so her teachings reflect that. Alice always offers choice and gives you the independence to explore your body intuitively, whilst guiding you through with love and kindness. Alice’s teachings include mindful vinyasa, restorative and yin postures, pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation. In 2016 Alice completed 200 hours of training with Yoga London, led by Holly Warren. Since then she has trained in Yin Yoga with Norman Blair, Vinyasa Flow with Mimi Kuo-Deemer and Sound Healing with Anne Malone. She is currently training to become a Yoga Therapist and is coming towards the end of a 550+ hour training programme with Yoga Campus. Alice also holds a degree in music and is working towards combining her two loves of yoga and music.

About Stella:

Stella first discovered yoga when she was a child as a warm up in dance class, little did she know that it was going to be such an important part of her life.  Upon returning from traveling to India Stella decided to train as a teacher and in 2016 gained her 200 hour YTT with Yoga London. Stella is very much in touch with her inner child and is a qualified Rainbow Kid’s teacher and has worked with children since 2017. Stella is currently working towards her level 2 500 hour teacher training with Julie Martin. Stella knows that Yoga was a driving force in overcoming ten years of chaos and destructive addictions, this motivated Stella to study 80 hours Yoga for Addiction in 2019 with Carolyn Cowan. Yoga for Addiction sees all addictions as an anxiety disorder, seeing addiction through the lenses of trauma, abuse and shame. While Stella appreciates the strength that yoga asana brings internally and externally she is more interested in how the practice combats the duality that exists in our society between mind and body and the profound benefits the practice has on the central nervous system. Stella teaches a non dogmatic style less concerned with what the practice looks like and more curious about sensation as experienced. You can expect an emphasis on relaxation, breath, body acceptance and awareness, intuitive and mindful movement.
