This donation based class is open to all, especially the elderly or those who have limited range of movement, who wish come and enjoy the benefits that yoga has to offer. It's also a great way to meet people in the local community! After the yoga session you're welcome to stick around for tea, biscuits and chats from 12:00-12:25pm as a way of getting to know each other and share our experiences.
What to expect:
- Guided Meditation. Learning to sit and focus on the breath and the bodily sensations as a way of de-cluttering the mind and finding inner peace and quiet.
- Breathing techniques. Learning to control the breath in order to calm the nervous system, increasing lung capacity and overall health.
- Intention setting / gratitude practice. Setting of intentions and gratitude each week to empower and enforce positive mental attitude.
- Chair based yoga postures and some standing postures where possible. Traditional yoga postures adapted to be done on a chair. We'll look at moving the whole body gently and mindfully to ease out muscular tension and build flexibility..
