3 night yoga retreat in Kent / Sussex border – Friday 17th January – Monday 20th January 2020.

Escape with us to the countryside for a long weekend of healing and nourishment. Just 60 minutes from London on the Kent / Sussex border you’ll be surrounded by outstanding natural beauty, calm and serenity. The weekend will be a blissful opportunity for you to disconnect from the city and reconnect to yourself, with plenty of time to rest and recharge the mind, body and soul.

Our Home

The Merrieweathers is a stunning converted stables and coach house. It is in an idyllic setting, surrounded by fields and woodlands situated on the edge of the historic charming village, Mayfield. You’ll have access to a fishing lake with a rowing boat, outdoor table tennis and draughts, as well as tennis courts and access to miles of public footpaths and woodland walks.

Inside we have plenty of space with lots of areas to get cosy and read beside the fire. We have a huge dining table where we can all join for meal times. There is even a cinema size projector screen for those who wish to watch a movie one evening. Most of the rooms have private ensuite bathroom facilities and we have an option for both private and shared accommodation.

The Yoga

There will be a yoga class every morning with Alice to awaken and refresh the body, and in the evening to calm and soothe in preparation for a good night’s sleep. All sessions will be open to all abilities with lots of options along the way. We’ll explore both the physical and subtle practices of yoga including asana (movement), pranayama (breathing), yoga nidra (relaxation), and meditation.

The Food

All meals will be loving prepared by Charlotte using fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. All meals will be plant based and well thought out and planned with nutrition and satisfaction in mind. We start the day with a hearty balanced brunch including firm favourites like overnight oats, fresh fruit, oven roast mushrooms, rye bread, nut butters and jams. Dinner will be an opportunity for us all to sit together and reflect on the day over a delicious home cooked meal, dessert will be refined sugar free and made with natural ingredients. As well as the two main meals snacks of fruit, nuts and herbal teas will be provided throughout the day.


Join Charlotte on Saturday afternoon for a workshop in fermentation. Fermented foods are an amazing source of probiotics and beneficial bacteria which create strong and healthy gut flora, essential for defending against illness. Did you know an estimated 80% of your immune system is located in your gut? Fermented foods are excellent detoxifyers, by helping the body remove heavy metals and providing essential nutrients creating a robust, healthy immune system. You will learn how to make your own Kimchi – a spicy fermented Korean cabbage dish and you will each get to take your kimchi home complete with a recipe E-card.

Join Tanya on Sunday for a nutrition workshop on how to boost your immunity. Tanya is a Nutrition and Lifestyle coach and with her expertise she’ll empower you with top tips on how to stay energised and well this winter. The workshop with Tanya is available for an additional cost of £5 to be paid on the day to her in cash.


We’re thrilled to have Mariella, a qualified masseuse, join us on retreat. She will be offering holistic massages on Saturday and Sunday for an additional cost of £40. Each session will be 60 minutes which will allow time for consultation where you can let Mariella know exactly what area(s) of the body you want to work on. Then enjoy a relaxing and healing 45 minute massage that is tailored to your needs. To book a massage please arrange with us directly so we can schedule you in at a time that suits you.


Transport links are easily accessible with the nearest mainline railway station at Wadhurst (6.5 miles, Charing Cross one hour) together with the A22 and A26 providing fast connections to the M25 link to central London, Gatwick (30 miles) and Heathrow (65 miles).

If travelling by train we can arrange a taxi pick up service from the station. For those travelling by car who are willing to share a ride, please let us know so we can arrange amongst the other guests.

You can secure your place by making a £100 non-refundable deposit. We’re also happy to discuss payment plans to spread out the costs.

Whilst all of the above is included in the price (excluding massage and nutrition workshop), all activities are optional. We appreciate this is your precious time out and we respect that sometimes you might want a lie in and / or go to bed early.
